The base game ships with 8 formations and 180 cards. The first expansion — currently titled Season Two — adds 4 new formations, 60 cards, and an entirely new game system we’re calling Weather Conditions.

The four new formations include the 3-5-2 (a formation we deliberately excluded from the base game because it requires specific counter-mechanics to balance), a high-press 4-2-4, and two secret formations that react to opponent formation choices dynamically. Formation drafting, already part of the Tournament Edition ruleset, becomes significantly richer with the expanded pool.

Weather Conditions is the mechanic we’ve been sitting on. At the start of each match, a Weather Card is drawn: Clear, Rain, Wind, or Mud. Each condition modifies specific card types — Rain reduces Sprint Card effectiveness but boosts Physical Challenge Cards; Wind makes long passes less accurate but long shots more powerful; Mud slows all movement but creates extra Tackle Tokens. The result is that no two matches feel identical.

Season Two will be available for backers as an add-on during the crowdfunding campaign. Non-backers will be able to purchase it at launch. We will not be creating any mechanic in Season Two that makes the base game unplayable without it — expansion must mean enhancement, never dependency.
